The Doctrine of Christian Life

A Holy Calling

We believe that having been saved and sanctified, the believer is also called with a holy calling, to not walk after the flesh but in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Therefore, the Christian life is the daily act by which the justified believer volitionally sets himself apart for God. The flesh is not eradicated in this life and needs to be brought into submission by dying to self and yielding to the Holy Spirit every day, because He Alone has the power to help us overcome sin. As a result, all members of the Body are called to live holy lives, set apart from the world in faith and practice, and to hold the highest standard of moral and social conduct, to model sanctification and be a distinct example to the world.
