When a situation is unfair, or people are being harsh, how do we not only respond well, but also have a strong spiritual influence? David faced that when Saul turned on him out of resentment and jealousy. Saul was bring driven by an evil spirit set on destroying David, who was anointed by the Lord and living for Him. So when David had an opportunity to get revenge, he resisted that temptation and acted in a way that honored the Lord and even Saul. The impact that had on Saul’s heart reveals to us that no matter how difficult our situation is, we can influence people to understand God’s love and mercy.
